My review of Vladislav Delay’s latest album on thevealpen:

Sasu Ripatti (a.k.a. Vladislav Delay) has been producing and performing electronic music for over twenty years, with as many album releases under well-worn monikers including Luomo, Sistol, Uusitalo and Conoco. Earlier this year, Ripatti was denied a visa to the US, which…

Voices From The Lake

thevealpen:

Based on their much-praised collaborative live show at this year’s Labyrinth Festival in Tokyo, Italians Donato Scaramuzzi (Dozzy) and Giuseppe Tillieci (Neel) will release ‘Voices From The Lake’ in late February via the Munich-based Prologue imprint. About as deep as house gets.

Album Review: Burger/Voigt - Mohn

thevealpen:

Mohn, meaning “poppy” in German, is the experimental brainchild of Wolfgang Voigt (aka Gas, co-founder of German electronic label Kompakt) and Jörg Burger (aka The Modernist). The duo have a history of collaborating together under the names Burger/Ink and Burger/Voigt.

Album review: Saschienne - Unknown

thevealpen:

From the outset a husband & wife electronic duo producing deep vocal house - although it worked for Matthew Herbert and Dani Siciliano - doesn’t exactly bowl you over with excitement. However, the latest project from Sascha Funke and his wife Julienne Dessagne Saschienne (compounding their names and faces on the front cover of the album) blends some of the better and lighter aspects of his sound with her resonating vocals and classical influence in an interesting and carefully sculpted way.

Event Preview: Don't Break My Love Tour

thevealpen:

One of the most talked about producers of the last two years, Nicolas Jaar arrives in London on his ‘Don’t Break My Love’ Tour to play at The Roundhouse. Jaar uses Ableton to match live vocals (sung through a vintage Shure Super 55) alongside a supporting band.

Event Preview: Krush with Petre Inspirescu

thevealpen:

In Romania, house music continues to flourish, with underground labels popping up such as Tzinah Records and fresh acts like Egal 3, the credit for this scene has to go to its founding forefathers - a:rpia:r
